In Language Arts… Keep reviewing the vocabulary words in the green notebook.

From this point on, your child will be reading all assessments in Language Arts on his/her own. For the third trimester the standard is to read and comprehend without support. I won’t be writing on each test that it was done ‘on own’ as I have done in the past. You will know that everyone will be completing these by themselves.

The Spelling pretest was today. If your child brought home a page and his/her notebook, then please make sure any misspelled word is written 3 times each. Homework will be today, Tuesday and Wednesday. The final test on compound words will be next week.

Remember, when listening to your child read, use the strategies that we have been working on in school. Refer to the page sent home.

Math…Since last week was disrupted, Topic 12, Length, begins today. We will be measuring with non-standard forms of measurement and with rulers.

Focus on the flashcards. The first fluency check is concentrating on sums to 9. So when you practice, if your child has not made the goal yet, pull out only the sums to 9 to make it a bit easier. Three more students made the goal! Keep practicing.

-Homework is to read any book your child is interested in every day and then add it to your reading log. Please be honest when writing down books on this list.

-Don’t forget your LOTTERY TICKETS! Thank you to those who have already donated to our basket. Each student who brings in tickets/money will receive a coupon for a free dress down day.

-Book orders are due Wednesday, April 4th. Remember to use the ‘Spend $5 and Get $5’ Code when you order online, or send it in with your child.
