RED RIBBON WEEK! In case you misplaced your schedule, here you go: Tuesday – Crazy Socks, Wednesday – Crazy Hair, Thursday – Wear Sweats and Pink, Friday – Wear Red and Blue (jeans permitted)

The spelling test will be tomorrow. Please review the words in the green notebook.

On Wednesday a decodable reader will be sent home to read for fluency. This will not need to be returned. It may be the only reader that does not need to come back. The students know all of these words so this story should be able to be read fluently. Fluency is when it is read smoothly with expression and is understood.

Topic 3 introduction was last week so this week we will really get into number 10. Using 10 frames, recognizing and representing numbers on a 10 frame, finding missing parts of 10 are a few of the lessons. As usual, check out the pages that come home and return those with corrected mistakes.

Reading Logs are due Friday. If your log is not complete by then, copy the October books onto the November Log that will come home next week.

Please send in your child’s costume in a bag on Friday.
Parade begins at 1:30 in the stadium.

Homework: 1. Read with your student or let them read to you. Don’t forget to add all the books you read to the reading log. 2. Decodable Reader – Wednesday > Read for fluency 3. Spelling words- review in Green Notebook for Tuesday 4. Review words in the Blue Notebook often. 5. Look over any math pages that are in the Take-Home Folder, correct errors and return.

Don’t forget that our room is chilly at times. Please send in a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater WITHOUT a hood.

We will be going outside for recess unless it is raining or below 40 degrees so send your son/daughter with weather appropriate clothing.

Please send in your party money in an envelope with your child’s name if you haven’t done so already.

**Review Friday Folder material. Sign the back page and return on Monday.**

I hope you have a thrilling week!
