Tuesday: Day 4 > Computer Class
Wednesday: Day 5 > Art Class
Thursday: Day 1 > Music Class

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! You really came through with our Chinese Auction Basket. To those of you who made a contribution, it was greatly appreciated.

Read “I’m a Caterpillar” today. Review pages 154-156 for the words and phonics skills that will be assessed tomorrow.

Topic 9 in math will be assessed this week. Look for the Reteaching page on Tuesday.

Remember to review those math facts.

Look for the new spelling words in the tan notebooks; review them for the test next week, if necessary.

Continue to review all pages in the Friday Folder, sign and return any tests that are stamped. These tests are very important to review and return. Also, sign and date the back page of the Folder. >>I am not asking for all tests come back signed. Please only send back those tests that are stamped. If it is not stamped, it is yours to keep at home.

Please keep reading every day. Reading is a homework assignment that all children should be completing each night. Remember to write the books you read on the Reading Log (in the plastic sleeve). Sign and return the page when complete and another one will be sent home.

I hope you have a remarkable week!

Monday will be Day 2 > Phys. Ed. **Don’t forget to wear your sneakers!

This Week's Happenings

3/23/15

Monday: Day 3 > Library
Tuesday: Day 4 > Computer Class
Wednesday: Day 5 > Art Class
Thursday: Day 1 > Music Class
Friday: Day 2 > Phys. Ed.

I know the PTO sent home a reminder about the Chinese Auction on Friday but I am asking once more… We only have about 8 items. If you are able, please send in a small snack. It only has to be one bag or box of cookies, crackers, chips, pretzels, etc.

Thank you if you already sent in something!

Topic 9 started today. It is Comparing and Ordering Numbers to 100. As always, review the pages that come home and correct any errors.

Remember to review those math facts.

Since our days are now off due to the early dismissal on Friday, the assessment on “Frog and Toad” was today. I do not like testing on a Monday so for next week I am building in an extra day to move the test to Tuesday. Unless a schedule change occurs, for whatever reason, this may be our new pattern.

Look for the new spelling words in the tan notebooks; review them for the test next week, if necessary.

The Decodable Reader “Helping Mom” will come home on Wednesday. Please read this with your child for fluency. From this point on, there are only a handful of students that I will be listening to, so ask your child if this needs to be signed and returned.

Mrs. Hull had to cancel our lesson last week so; we will have a Guidance lesson on Tuesday with Mrs. Hull.

Continue to review all pages in the Friday Folder, sign and date the back page. I will no longer expect every test to be returned, just look for those that are stamped. Thank you for your cooperation.

There are several students that have not turned in a completed Reading Log. Please read with your child. The more practice your child gets, the better he/she will read with accuracy, fluency and comprehension. If you have returned two or more logs, you are doing GREAT, thank you.

I hope you have a spectacular week!

Do you believe this? Maybe we will finally get through a whole week! I am keeping my fingers crossed.

We started Topic 8 in math. It is Tens and Ones. As usual, please review the pages that come home and correct any errors for homework. Send these back to school if corrections were made. Thank you for your cooperation.

Even though our main focus will not be addition or subtraction in math, we will continue to review our facts. Please keep drilling these!

I am picking up the pace of our language arts lessons. The new story will be introduced and 4 days after we will assess. The majority of the class is doing really well on their phonics and comprehension skills. Thank you for continuing to read and work on these concepts. It is definitely evident.

Look for the new spelling words, review them for the test on Friday if necessary.

Read “The Class Pet” in the reading book on Thursday. Also look over the pages prior to the story. The Phonics skills are on pages 88 and 90. High Frequency words are on page 89.

On Friday we will have our positive behavior reward! It will be GAME DAY. Your child can bring in a game from home. It can be a board game or card game. No electronic games or devices please. This went so well a few months ago that we decided to try it again.

Continue to review all pages in the Friday Folder, sign and return any tests that are stamped. These tests are very important to review and return. Also, sign and date the back page of the Folder.
