Review the spelling words in the green notebook. The test is tomorrow.


Read “Mama’s Birthday Present” with your child today.


The comprehension and written tests will be on Tuesday.


Remember to review the words in the blue notebook. These words should be read on sight. They should not have to be sounded out.


We began Topic 12 today. Changing gears with this topic, Length. We will be measuring with nonstandard units and rulers. Comparing lengths and indirect measurement will also be studied. Look for these pages to come home and correct any mistakes for homework.


A Decodable Reader will be coming home on Friday. This needs to be read several times to achieve accuracy and fluency. Please sign it after listening to your child read and send it back the next school day.


Homework is always to read every night with your child.


You can hand in your March Reading Log on Friday. The April log will come home next week. Keep Reading!


-Don’t forget that our room is chilly at times. Please send in a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater WITHOUT a hood. Even though the temperatures are slowly rising outside, our room’s temperature does not.

-We will be going outside for recess unless it is raining or below 40 degrees so send your son/daughter with weather appropriate clothing.

The new spelling list will be brought home today. The test will be next week, most likely on Tuesday, so practice the words in the green notebook if necessary.

A Decodable Reader will be coming home on Wednesday (3/23). This needs to be read several times to achieve accuracy and fluency. Please sign it after listening to your child read and send it back to school the next day.

One more lesson in Topic 9 coming home today. Tomorrow the reteaching page will be in the take-home folders. Please review this for the test on Wednesday.

Continue to use all the reading strategies you and your child have been working on all school year. Refer to the page that was sent home, this will really help those students who are still struggling.

Topic 9 has just begun. It is still focusing on numbers to 100. Please review all pages and if there are items to be corrected, do it for homework and return it the next day.

Topic 8 Reteaching page is in the take-home folder today. Please review for the test tomorrow. Topic 9 begins Wednesday. This topic is focusing on how numbers to 100 can be compared and ordered. If your child has mistakes, please correct them for homework.
