Monday: Day 8 > Music
Tuesday: Day 9 > Computers (1/2 day)

In Language Arts… Keep reviewing the vocabulary words in the blue notebook. Concentrate on any words your child did not know that are written in the front cover of the notebook. We will continue to add vocabulary words to this notebook to prepare us for next year. The children can read these throughout the summer.

No Spelling test this week. Spelling patterns will continue to be reviewed.


Math…Addition facts as well as subtraction facts will be a super review for second grade. This week will be a review of some skills and concepts we have learned.


*Carnival Day is Friday – You may send in sunscreen, sun glasses, hats, etc… We will spend half of the day outside and half inside. Please check the weather report so you can dress your child accordingly. He/She should wear socks and sneakers. No sandals for this fun-filled day.

Reading Logs are due TOMORROW, May 29, so your child can get credit for whatever books have been read this month.

Tuesday: Day 1 > Keyboarding
Wednesday: Day 2 > Phys. Ed.
Thursday: Day 3 > Music
Friday: Day 4 > Computers


In Language Arts… Keep reviewing the vocabulary words in the blue notebook. Concentrate on any words your child did not know that are written in the front cover of the notebook. The last set of words will be tested this week.

Spelling written homework will be Monday-Thursday. Write each misspelled word from the pretest 3 times.

Continue working on reading comprehension. After your child reads a story or chapter, ask some questions about what was read. Comprehension and fluency are the focus of these last few weeks of school. It is so important that you listen to your child read EVERY DAY.

Remember, when listening to your child read, use the strategies that we have been working on in school. Refer to the page sent home.


Math…Please review the flashcards in the envelope. Return the Flashcard Envelopes each day.

Unit 7 is Coins and Graphing > We will work on graphing for a few days then review for the Assessment on Thursday.


-Homework is to read a book every day and then add it to your reading log.

Spelling test will be on Thursday. Please review the words in the green notebook if your child is taking the test.

Unit 7 is Coins and Graphing > Mixed coin counting will continue…penny, nickel, dime and quarter. Keep working on this skill.

Graphing will begin this week. The students have already been introduced to this concept so it will be a review.

**Send Book Fair Money in an envelope on Tuesday if your child is shopping.
