This Week's Happenings

2/1/16

Monday: Day 4 > Computer Class
Tuesday: Day 5 > Library Class
Wednesday: Day 6 > Art Class
Thursday: Day 7 > Phys. Ed.
Friday: Day 8 > Music Class

A Decodable Reader will be coming home on Wednesday. This needs to be read several times to achieve accuracy and fluency. Please sign the back and send it back to school the next day.

The new spelling list will be brought home today. The test will be Friday, so practice the words in the green notebook if necessary.

Please listen to your child read “A Place to Play” on Thursday. (The written part of the test comes from the story.)

The phonics, comprehension and writing assessments will also be on Friday. This comprehension section will be totally completed by the students. I will not be reading any questions or answer choices.

Remember to review the words in the blue notebook. These words should be read on sight. They should not have to be sounded out.

Topic 7 lessons will continue, so as usual, review these and correct any mistakes for homework. There will be more addition flashcards coming home this week. These are to be kept at home and practiced a few times during the week.

Homework is always to read every night with your child. February Reading Logs were in the Friday Folder last week so keep reading, record your books and send them back when complete!

-Don’t forget that our room is chilly at times. Please send in a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater WITHOUT a hood. Many children complained last week, so if he/she wears a short sleeve shirt, a sweater/jacket would help them be more comfortable.

-We will be going outside for recess unless it is raining or below 40 degrees so send your son/daughter with weather appropriate clothing.

**Review Friday Folder material. Sign the back page and return on Monday.**

I hope you have an amazing week!

Monday will be Day 9 > Computer Class
