Our new story and skills began today. We started Unit 2. The book will come home on Friday to read the story several times and practice the phonics skills. Please review pages 16 & 18. Also page 17 to review the words: said, want, good, catch, no, put. This book will not come home more than once during each story.

The spelling test for anyone who needs to take it will be next week (Monday). So please look for these in your child’s take home folder. The only pretests that will come home are those that will need to be retaken.

Addition and Subtraction Facts to 12 is still our topic. We are adding and subtracting this week. Subtraction begins with 0, 1, 2; then using doubles to subtract; and subtraction related to addition. Many different strategies will be introduced. Review each page and check if corrections need to be made. This is a homework assignment.

Continue to review all pages in the Friday Folder, sign and return any tests that are stamped. These tests are very important to review and return. Also, sign and date the back page of the Folder.

Please keep reading every day. Reading is a homework assignment that all children should be completing each night.
