This Week's Happenings

12/21/15

Monday: Day 4 > Computer Class
*Tuesday: Day 5 > Library Class
Wednesday: Day 6 > Art Class >>>>>>1:00 Dismissal

No School until Monday, January 4!

*Wear your Ugly Christmas Sweater and Jeans on Tuesday.

New Spelling words will not be given until after the break.

Review words in the blue Vocabulary Word notebook, often.

We are continuing to work in Topic 5 in math. Review the pages that come home. Remember to practice addition facts up to 20 so your child can have an advantage in math. If he/she memorizes the facts, it will make their transition to 2nd grade that much easier.

Homework is always to read every night with your child. Even though the new reading logs will not be handed out until January, please continue to read.

-Don’t forget that our room is chilly at times. Please send in a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater WITHOUT a hood.

-We will be going outside for recess unless it is raining or below 40 degrees so send your son/daughter with weather appropriate clothing.

**Review Friday Folder material. Sign the back page and return on Monday.**

Have a Merry Christmas and
Happy New Year!

Monday, January 4th will be Day 7 > Phys. Ed. > Don’t forget your sneakers!

Topic 5 will be finding more strategies to solve addition facts. Please review the pages that come home in the take-home folder. We are practicing our addition facts in class; any extra help you can give your child would be great. These facts to 20 should be memorized.

Review words in the blue Vocabulary Word notebook. The students read these words orally. During this week I will be listening to your child read the words to me.

Homework is always to read every night with your child. Have your son/daughter read to you and you read to them. Their reading skills will only get better with practice. Completing this homework assignment will help your child with the comprehension skills needed to do well on the assessments.
