This Week's Happenings

4/25/16

Monday: Day 10 > Guidance Class
Tuesday: Day 1 > Art Class
Wednesday: Day 2 > Phys. Ed.
Thursday: Day 3 > Music Class
Friday: Day 4 > Computer Class

There will be a Decodable Reader to read Tuesday called “Sue’s Daydream”. This should be read several times so that the children do not need to sound out any words. Therefore, they will achieve appropriate fluency.

Read “Peter’s Chair” with your child Wednesday.

Review the spelling words in the green notebook. The test is Thursday. New words will be coming home on next week.

The comprehension and written tests will be on Thursday.

Remember to review the words in the blue notebook. These words should be read on sight. They should not have to be sounded out.

Topic 14 is Using Data to Answer Questions. Please review all pages that come home.

Addition facts up to 9 should be memorized. This will not happen unless they are practiced at home. There are very few children who are able to give answers on sight. In second grade it is very helpful if the children do not need to take the time to figure out the addition problems. Thanks for your cooperation.

Homework is always to read every night with your child.

-Don’t forget that our room is chilly at times. Please send in a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater WITHOUT a hood. Even though the temperatures are slowly rising outside, our room’s temperature does not.

-Now that the weather is getting nicer, you may send hats and/or sunglasses to school with your child for recess.

**Review Friday Folder material. Sign the back page and return on Monday. **

I hope you have an exceptional week!

Monday (5/2) will be Day 5 > Library Class
