This Week's Happenings

1/11/16

Monday: Day 2 > Phys. Ed.
Tuesday: Day 3 > Music Class
Wednesday: Day 4 > Computer Class
Thursday: Day 5 > Library Class
Friday: Day 6 > Art Class

We will be taking our second Dibels benchmark this week. Therefore our Reading/Phonics and Spelling work will be stretched out into next week.

Spelling words were given today. The test will be next week, so practice the words that were misspelled on the pretest. These words are in the green notebook.

Vocabulary words will be sent home on Tuesday. Please review these new words, in the blue notebook, as well as the last few groups given. These need to be read orally only.

Thursday a decodable reader will come home. Please listen to your child read this several times. Don’t forget to sign and return it on Friday.

The comprehension/phonics/spelling tests will be given next week. As it looks right now, on Tuesday, if there are no schedule interruptions.

Topic 6 has begun. This topic is on subtraction and strategies used to find subtraction facts. Please review the pages that come home in the take-home folders. Also, practice the addition facts to 20.

Homework is always to read every night with your child. Have your son/daughter read to you and you read to them. Their reading skills will only get better with practice. Completing this homework assignment will help your child with the comprehension skills needed to do well on the assessments.

-Don’t forget that our room is chilly at times. Please send in a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater WITHOUT a hood.

-We will be going outside for recess unless it is raining or below 40 degrees so send your son/daughter with weather appropriate clothing.

**Review Friday Folder material. Sign the back page and return on Monday.**

I hope you have an extraordinary week!

Monday will be Day 7 > Phys. Ed. (Sneakers!)

Remember, our schedule is always subject to change.
