This Week's Happenings

1/18/16

Monday: No School
Tuesday: Day 7 > Phys. Ed.
Wednesday: Day 8 > Music Class
Thursday: Day 9 > Computers
Friday: Day 10 > Guidance Class

The spelling test will be tomorrow so practice the words in the green notebook.

Listen to your child read “Life in the Forest”. The comprehension and writing portion of the assessments will be tomorrow also.

This will be the last comprehension assessment that will be read by me. The students will be responsible for reading the story, questions and answer choices next week. All extra practice you can give your child reading will be helpful.

Remember to review the words in the blue notebook. These are the vocabulary and high-frequency words for the stories we read. Learning these words will help your child with understanding of the text.

We will continue the lessons in Topic 6. This topic is focused on subtraction, along with related facts and fact families. Review the pages that come home and practice the addition flashcards that will come home later this week.

Homework is always to read every night with your child.

-Don’t forget that our room is chilly at times. Please send in a jacket, sweatshirt or sweater WITHOUT a hood. Many children complained last week, so if he/she wears a short sleeve shirt, a sweater/jacket would help them be more comfortable.

-We will be going outside for recess unless it is raining or below 40 degrees so send your son/daughter with weather appropriate clothing.

**Review Friday Folder material. Sign the back page and return on Monday.**

I hope you have an astounding week!

Monday will be Day 1 > Art Class
