This Week's Happenings

3/2/15

Monday: Day 3 > Library Book Exchange
Tuesday: Day 4 > Computer Class
Wednesday: Day 5 > Art Class
Thursday: Day 1 > Music Class
Friday: Day 2 > Phys. Ed. *** Game Day! ***

Newspaper in Education Week has begun! Please read the newspaper with your child and sign the certificate that was sent home in the Friday Folder, each night. Send it back next week. Also, keep an eye out for an ad in the paper for our class. Bring it in for a prize!

We started Topic 8 in math today. It is Tens and Ones. As usual, please review the pages that come home and correct any errors for homework. Send these back to school if corrections were made. Thank you for your cooperation.

Even though our main focus will not be addition or subtraction in math, we will continue to review our facts. Please keep drilling these!

Review the spelling words for the final test tomorrow.

Read “Ruby in Her Own Time” in the reading book. Also look over the pages prior to the story. The Phonics skills are on pages 48 and 50. High Frequency words are on page 49. Test tomorrow on all of these concepts.

On Friday we will have our positive behavior reward! It will be GAME DAY. Your child can bring in a game from home. It can be a board game or card game. No electronic games or devices please. This went so well a few months ago that we decided to try it again.

Continue to review all pages in the Friday Folder, sign and return any tests that are stamped. These tests are very important to review and return. Also, sign and date the back page of the Folder.

Please keep reading every day. Reading is a homework assignment that all children should be completing each night. Remember to write the books you read on the Reading Log (in the plastic sleeve). Sign and return the page when complete and another one will be sent home.

I hope you have an astonishing week!

Monday will be Day 3 > Library Class
