This Week's Happenings

2/27/17

Monday: Day 9 > Computer Class
Tuesday: Day 10 > Library Book Exchange
Wednesday: Day 1 > Art Class
Thursday: Day 2 > Physical Ed.
Friday: Day 3 > Music Class Read Across America Day

Review the Spelling words in the TAN notebook. The test will be on Thursday.

On Wednesday, a decodable reader will be sent home. Please read it with your child a few times for fluency. Some students must get this signed and return it to read to me. It is important to practice so that the children do not need to sound out any words. You may add it to the Reading Log.

We will be writing our second set of words in our Blue notebooks this week. As with the past sets of words, I will listen to the children read them to me after we have all of the book 4 words.

The math topic is already coming to a close. We will assess these skills on Thursday. Please look over any pages that come home as well as the Reteaching page on Wednesday.

Keep working on addition facts. Use the flashcards to gain fluency. The first fluency check on math facts was sent home last week. Most of the students did a great job. They had 5 minutes to complete the facts. The next check was 4 minutes and will be sent home this week.

Read Across America Day is celebrated to honor Dr. Seuss. If you have any Dr. Seuss books that you would allow your child to bring to school, please send them on Friday.

Don’t Forget! Your child should be reading all stories to you. This is considered HOMEWORK every single day. After reading the book, add it to the Reading Log. When listening to your child read, remember to use those strategies that we have worked on since the start of the school year.

We will be going outside for recess unless it is raining or below 40 degrees so send your son/daughter with weather appropriate clothing.

**Review Friday Folder material and Return on Monday.**

I hope you have a notable week!

Monday (3/6) will be Day 4 > Computer Class

Ask your child about our lesson presented by students from Bloomsburg University on Friday!

Keep tying shoes please.
