In Language Arts… Keep reviewing the vocabulary words in the blue notebook. I will be listening to the children read this last set of words this week.
A decodable reader will come home today. Please listen to your child read it several times for fluency. He/she should be able to read all words in the book. Yellow and Green Group Students need to get this signed after reading it and send it back to school.
Spelling test is on Wednesday. Please review the words if your child is taking the test.
Our first Reading Book is complete this week. Your child is bringing home Unit 1 to read these stories to you. You may add these stories to the reading log. Please return the book by Friday.
New spelling words will be pretested on Thursday. If your child brings home the green notebook, these words need to be reviewed and the final test will be next week. Written homework will also be next week.
Remember, when listening to your child read, use the strategies that we have been working on in school. Refer to the page sent home.
Math…We will add new facts to our pile. Please review the flashcards in the envelope. Return the Flashcard Envelopes each day.
Unit 3 has begun. Look for pages that come home and review them with your child.

In Language Arts…Spelling test will now be after Thanksgiving. Keep studying those words.
Keep reviewing the vocabulary words. If your child has a stapled card inside the front cover, these are the words that should be practiced more frequently.

Math…Unit 3 Pre-Assessment was today. Fact flashcards were added to the envelope last week, please keep practicing these.

-We will be going outside for recess when the temperature is above 40 degrees. Please dress your child accordingly.

Keep reviewing the vocabulary words. There will be new words in the blue notebooks on Thursday. These words will be read to me next week. Also, if your child has a card stapled to the inside cover of this notebook, please spend extra time looking over those words.
There will not be a decodable reader sent home this week.
